The Messenger

The messenger is the real protagonist of the piece. She is a transparent servant of the world. She is only driven by an urge to serve and please. People take advantage of her innocence and after series of rapes and violations she becomes pregnant. She is concerned with the future of her unborn baby. She is caring, honest and clear-sighted. Her speech in Lesson 5 is a preparation for the ultimate transformation.
